What to do with the other glasses?
My intention, from the beginning, is to report on factors which affects to the eyes without judging the person wearing or not glasses. It depends on the character of everyone and the possibilities of taking care of oneself. It is not the same a teacher, than a farmer who is outdoors. Therefore, I advise that everyone try to adapt the process to his/her, own way, to reduce the use of glasses.
I start saying something that is very important for me: stop using progressive glasses; they hurt a lot our eyes. The reason is obvious; they help us to see clearly at short, medium and long distance and this is why my eyes make no effort and eye movement is reduced. It forces me to tell that I don´t advise to use them. But we could buy normal glasses for short distance, other for medium and other for long and we would ask to the optician a reduction of 20% to force the eye to locate the image. This is what I advice to everybody who wears normal glasses, or contact lens. If we look for old glasses, maybe we are lucky and we find one with that reduction.
The second point to consider is to take off the glasses when they are not really necessary, for example: walking in the park or in a meeting with friends. Maybe it is annoying not to see, that’s why I say in calm situations. The confusion that this situation can create, not seeing (if you can stand it) is a very special process for me because, although you don´t see, you see what you see, and you can start watching, your new view; you can touch and feel objects which you don´t see clearly. Look at the objects relaxed, like a baby does when she/he picks up an object and puts it in her mouth; then the baby learns to focus and after he, or she, sees. This is something that everybody did, and that we can relearn to do until we return to our normal situation. We have to do it with effort, and relaxed.
The most important thing is to take off your glasses in those situations that force you to stare. As I told before: television, computer, reading etc. and instead use them, use the grid glasses always thinking about the process of adaptation. You have to think that if you don´t do it, your visual fixation will be increased and your progress will be reversed.
If you can wear reticular glasses in your job, it not only helps you, but it can be good for other people to see that there are alternatives to care for the view.
You are who decide when and where you put, and you take off the glasses; reticular or normal. Take it easy. There is nothing better or worse. I only talk about what has worked for me.
If we talk about contact lens, it is more difficult than normal glasses because it is not so easy to put them and remove them. My advice is that if you want to make this process easier, you should buy just normal glasses, go to an optician, and ask for the reduction of 20%. They must not be progressive. If it is possible, one to watch closely, and one for distance; or just the one you need and do it as I said above. If you don´t want to do this, try wearing the least possible contact lens. And if you understand what I explained, you can do it your way. I think that everyone can find a moment or a motivation to take off glasses or lens, relax, and put the reticular glasses or just investigate other methods of natural vision to help you be yourself.
